Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Live Earth Map & Street Cam HD app ("the app") uses, who receives it, why, and the choices you have. The app is made by Akash Mangukiya ("we", "us").
The short version
- There are no accounts. We never ask for your name, phone number or contacts.
- Your location, photos, favourites, history, parking spots, home location and settings stay on your device. We do not receive them.
- To show maps, weather, live cameras and ads, the app talks to Apple, Google (AdMob, Firebase, YouTube) and Open-Meteo. The table below lists exactly what each receives.
- Ads are personalised only if you allow tracking. You can change your ad and tracking choices at any time.
- Apple handles all payments. We never see your card or payment details.
What stays on your device
Your favourite and recently watched cameras, saved parking spots, home location, world-clock cities, unit and map settings, and language are stored only on your device. Photos you take with GPS Cam are saved to your device's photo library, in an album named "Live Earth Map". None of this is sent to us. It is deleted when you delete the app (photos stay in your library until you delete them).
What is shared, with whom and why
| Information | Shared with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your location (only after you allow it), and places you search for | Apple (Apple Maps / MapKit) | Showing maps, satellite and 3D views, Look Around, addresses, nearby places and search results |
| Latitude and longitude of your location or a chosen place; city names you search for in Weather | Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) | Weather forecasts, altitude/elevation and oxygen-level estimates |
| Your IP address, device and browser information while you watch a live camera | YouTube (Google) | Playing the public YouTube live streams inside the app |
| Advertising identifier (Apple IDFA, only if you allow tracking), identifier for vendor, IP address (used for approximate location), device model and settings, ad interactions, and crash and performance diagnostics of the ad SDK | Google AdMob | Showing ads, measuring them, frequency capping and preventing fraud; personalised ads only with your consent |
| App usage events (screens opened, features used, ads shown, purchases started), app instance ID, device model, operating system, language, country (from IP address) | Google Firebase (Analytics and Remote Config) | Understanding how the app is used so we can improve it, and adjusting settings such as ad frequency without an app update |
| Your spoken destination in Voice Navigation | Apple speech recognition | Turning speech into text. Recognition runs on your device when your device supports it; otherwise Apple processes the audio |
| Purchase and subscription status | Apple (App Store) | Processing your subscription, renewals and restores. We receive only whether Premium is active, never payment details |
| Your email address and message, the app version and device model (only when you choose to contact us) | Us, by email | Answering your feedback or support request |
When you choose to open directions, the app hands the destination to Apple Maps or Google Maps, whose own privacy policies then apply.
Permissions the app asks for
The app asks for each permission only when you use a feature that needs it, and works without it where it can.
- Location: maps, My Location, parking, distance, altitude, weather, nearby places, compass, GPS Cam stamps and the speedometer. "Always" access is used only while a speedometer trip is running, so speed and limit alerts keep working in the background; iOS shows a location indicator while this is on.
- Camera: taking GPS Cam photos. Photos are not uploaded.
- Photos: saving GPS Cam photos and showing, rotating or deleting them in the in-app gallery.
- Microphone and speech recognition: Voice Navigation only.
- Motion & fitness: reading the barometer for air pressure in Oxygen Level and Live Sensor.
- Notifications: speed-limit alerts during a speedometer trip. They are created on your device.
- Tracking (App Tracking Transparency): allowing ads to be personalised. If you decline, you still see ads, but they are not based on your activity in other apps and websites.
You can change any permission at any time in your device's Settings → Live Earth Map.
Advertising and your choices
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent form before personalised ads are shown; you can change your choice at any time under Settings → Privacy choices in the app. On every device you can allow or stop tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Premium subscribers see no ads. Learn how Google uses information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Data retention
We do not keep your location, photos or app content. Google Firebase Analytics keeps event data according to its retention settings (up to 14 months). Advertising data is retained by Google according to its policies. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to answer you, and are deleted on request.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has contacted us with personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
All connections to the services above use encrypted HTTPS. Information stored on your device is protected by your device's own security, such as your passcode.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU and UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA, or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because we hold no account data, most information can be removed simply by deleting the app and resetting your advertising identifier (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). For anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell personal information.
International transfers
Apple, Google and Open-Meteo may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States and the European Union, under their own safeguards.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
